About the Initiative
The Advancing Career Pathways project is a two-year federal investment dedicated to strengthening and expanding the role of CTE in career pathways systems at the local and state levels. This strategic initiative strives for all learners to gain access to high quality career pathways. For more information about Advancing Career Pathways, contact infoCP@manhattanstrategy.com.
Who should attend from your state?
We invite each state to bring a team of 4 to 6 members who represent key partners that collaboratively contribute to the effective implementation of a comprehensive career pathways system: CTE state directors and other state secondary and postsecondary education leaders, local CTE program leadership, adult education leaders, workforce and economic development leaders, employers and labor representatives, preapprenticeship leaders, and community based organization leaders.
Each daylong meeting will be structured as a collaborative and facilitated working session. Teams will participate in joint learning and planning sessions focused on transformative leadership, creating partnerships, capacity building, networking, policy change, and intentional communications to provide states with the tools they need to engage in systems change. The meeting will address common challenges to developing career pathways systems and provide opportunities to hear from others who have overcome challenges.
The MSG team will provide premeeting guidance to participants to gather data on previous career pathways systems efforts, identify stakeholders to engage in the career pathway planning process, and solicit ways to ensure that the working session is highly responsive to attendees’ needs. The more participants invest in planning before the meeting, the more progress they will accomplish at the working session.
